Here’s one of the most important things I have learned: be mindful of the energy that you bring when you walk into a room. This nugget came from the one and only – Oprah, so you know it’s a good one! Let’s talk about one quick trick to help you bring only the best energy into every room you enter.
I want you to be the type of person that everyone is glad to see when you walk into a room! What about the opposite of that…can you picture someone that you just freakin dread every time they come into a room? I’ve called people “Eeyore.” Do you want to be that kind of person? NO! Do people want to work with people like that? NO! Do they want to do have a drink with someone like that? NO! So, let’s uplift the energy in every room we enter!
First, what the hell is energy and why is it so important? You know when you get bad “vibes” from someone? You can’t quite place it…they didn't say anything...
There’s one thing that should ABSOLUTELY be a the top of priority list. It’s not your family, your job, or your long-term goals. Do you know what it is? It’s YOU! Your health, your emotional state, your needs, should be the #1 priority. Because – you can’t give what you don’t have! Are you giving your best self?
Ok, so how do we be great? Is it selflessly giving to others until we are drained and tired? Is it putting everyone else’s needs above our own until we have lost out connection to our own desires and passion? Absolutely not!
We know this, yet – so many people put “self-care” on the bottom of their daily to-do list. It becomes something like, "I’ll go to yoga if I have time." "Once I get the kids ready for the day, I may try to squeeze in a meditation." "Next week, I’ll reach out to my friends to see if they want to go to happy hour."
But look – what are the results of...
Right now, there is a tremendous amount of tension between people. Do you know what I'm talking about? Our actions, our words are divisive. There's a lot of “us” versus “them” mentality, and I want to know honestly, are you being a part of the solution or are you being a part of that problem?
In our current climate, people are choosing to be incredibly divisive. It's non-mask wearers versus mask wearers. It's Republicans versus Democrats. We're making the choice to see people as separate, as unlike us, as different. We are quick to stereotype, we’re quick to judge, we’re quick to belittle, and honestly, we're quick to hate other people who don't share the same ideas and beliefs that we do.
So, I want to know what's going to happen if we continue to live like this? What will our communities be like if we continue to judge and place hate and be separate from other people? Is this the kind of world that you want to live in? Most of us...
Today, I want to let you in on a little secret of living an extraordinary life…you have to be willing to do the things that ordinary people don’t do.
So, are you willing to do one thing that 95% of Americans are not doing? Depends…what is it, you ask? Any guesses? It is (drumroll, please)…exercise regularly!
Were you hoping I’d say something else, like drink a glass of wine a day. I saw this study that was out on the Department of Health and Human Services website that said that “less than 5% of adults participate in 30 minutes of physical activity each day.” So that means that 95% of Americans aren't getting 30 minutes of physical activity each day.
Well, guess what? Exercise is it's a part of the greatness formula! I've been a regular exerciser for about 20 years; it's a core of who I am. It is what helps me approach each day with the energy and vitality that I need to show up as my best self.
I could list the health benefits of...

Welcome to this week's “Here to be Great” guide. Here's what we're talking about this week: what to do when things don't go your way.
What an appropriate theme for 2020! Anybody else having a pretty rough year? By anyone, I mean, isn't everyone!
So this year...I lost my grandmother unexpectedly, I had my pay cut significantly, I was on unemployment, I've had trips canceled and even just recently, I didn't get a home that I was really looking forward to.
So I thought let's take a little bit deeper look at the four-step process that I've been going through when things don't go my way.
Step 1: I always believe that I am being guided.
I always believed that I am being guided and I really believe that everything is happening for the highest good of all. So when something doesn't go my way, the first thing I think is - I believe that I'm being guided and I trust the universe. This is (for whatever reason) for the highest good for all.
Step 2: I say...
Welcome to this week's “Here to be Great” guide!
This video is all about how to make your mornings suck less!
Look, I am a morning person. I love the mornings, but I'll be honest... some of them just suck.
So this video is for anyone who's trying to get up earlier and make that a consistent habit. Maybe you're getting up to exercise or maybe you're getting up to add a meditation time to your day (if you are - check out my FREE guided meditation to help you breakthrough your limitations!).
These are my five tips for maximizing your morning!
#1: Get really clear on your reason for getting up early.
Because that my friends, is the thing that is going to drive you when it is cold and dark and you don't want to get out of your warm, comfy bed.
So why are you getting up early? For me, it was out of necessity. I was living in South Florida and I was working for a fitness brand, but...
So recently, that little voice inside my head that says “you're not good enough,” “You can't do that.” “Who do you think you are?” Has been so loud. I don't know about you, but I've really been hearing this voice more and more as I've been trying new things and it's so normal for us to have that kind of negative voice in our head that's trying to sabotage everything that we do.
And here's how I've been dealing with it. And I wanted to share in the event that you, too, find it helpful- is one - I got a great reminder from my coach, Leslie, this week that that voice is not me. And guess what? That voice is not you. That is not us in that voice. And some people give that voice a cute little nickname. I just call it what it is that is fear. That is the voice of fear in my head. Anytime I step outside of my comfort zone, anytime I try something new, anytime I dare to be a little bit better than I was yesterday. I mean, that voice just kicks in...
